Fresh Eggs. . .

I have been eyeballing this Egg Skelter for some time.  I don't put our chickens eggs in the fridge.  We eat them often and if they are not washed, the bloom on the outside of the eggs will keep them fresh for up to 12 weeks un-refrigerated   We have never gone that long, as we eat our eggs almost every morning for breakfast.  What this handy dandy toy does, is keep the eggs in order freshness with the older eggs at the bottom and the newer eggs at the top.  If you keep backyard chickens, this is a great thing to have!!

  1. I've been wanting to try one of these as well. We keep our eggs on the counter but often times aren't eating the freshest eggs first. I might have to splurge.

    1. It took a long time for me to actually put up the money for it Alexis. It's not cheap! But I do have to say, that I am glad that I finally did. I really like it a lot and feel that is it worth it.

  2. I just ordered 3 Buff Opington Chicks from Dare 2 Dream farms, here in southern California. I was so lucky to find them so soon and with a schedule delivery for tomorrow afternoon. This will be my first time raising chickens, however, after I read your review in Backyard Chickens I had to get some chicks myself. Thank you so much!
BTW, where could I find an egg holder like yours?

  3. That is a very handy tool Kelly. You will get a lot of use out of it. That is a wise investment.

P.S. I am sitting on my deck and watching the mosquitoes hover but not land. I added more essential oil to my homemade recipe. If that isn't enough I will add more. I will try reapplying often and see what happens.

    1. Let me know how the mosquito thing goes. I'm not sure if it would work against the mosquitoes of Michigan though. We'll see when you come stay with us this summer.
