And Here We Go Again. . .

The newly hatched baby Buff Orpingtons have arrived!  They are only one day old.  Please meet, from left to right. . .

Buttercup, Rosie, and Lexie

They are so incredibly sweet!!!

As you can see, the love has already begun!!

Tara named Lexie.  Her real name is Alexis, but it's Lexie for short.

Madeline named Rosie. . .

. . .and I named Buttercup much to the dismay of the girls.  You see, we now have Dixie, Daisy, Jazzy (which is what we call Jasmine), Rosie, Lexie and "Buttercup".  They think I should have picked a name that ends in an "ee" sound.  I told them I named her Buttercup so I could say "Whats up Buttercup!".    So there they are.  I really don't think there is anything cuter than brand new baby chicks.  God did a great job in making them cute as can be!!

I mean really!. . .

. . .How cute are they!!!

  1. Adorable new family members! I imagine the bands are so you can tell them apart???

    1. Thanks Carolyn. And yes, the bands (colored zip ties) are so we can keep track of who is who. We did the same thing with Dixie, Daisy and Jasmine. It works like a charm. As their legs grow, we can easily snip them off with little wire snips and put new ones on. The girls are absolutely loving the new babies. Me too!

  2. OMG, too much cuteness. My baby BO's are 19 weeks old today and two are squatting for me. YIPEE!! Enjoy this baby chick phase. They are just the cutest thing in the world at this age.

    1. Wow! I can't believe they are already squatting. Lucky you. Our older BO's didn't start squatting until they were around 26-27 weeks? Eggs come quickly after squatting begins. Congratulations!!

  3. Aw, how sweet! You can tell that the girls are really lovin' their chicks! How exciting! We brought home 2 8-month-old Pekin ducks 2 weeks ago. (We were supposed to get babies, but their incubating Mama decided she couldn't give them up so gave us this pair because she's not attached to them.) So, we're getting a larger coop built this weekend for our 7 hens and redoing the smaller, older coop for the ducks. We'll have room for 18 hens in the new coop...;)

    1. Dandelion, you are right about the pooping!!! Sheesh these animals are non stop. Luckily they feed us breakfast and we can look past it. :)

And God REALLY did make them cute! Some birds are truly ugly at birth, but chickens are just adorable!!
